Liposuction + BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift)

Liposuction + BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) is a comprehensive body contouring procedure that combines the benefits of liposuction with buttock enhancement using your own fat. This two-in-one procedure removes unwanted fat from areas like the abdomen, flanks, and thighs, and strategically transfers it to the buttocks for enhanced volume, shape, and projection.

Unlike implants, the Brazilian Butt Lift uses your body's own fat tissue, resulting in a more natural look and feel with the added benefit of slimming the donor areas. This creates a more harmonious overall body contour with improved proportions and an enhanced silhouette.

At Neoderma Clinica, our experienced plastic surgeons use advanced techniques to ensure safe fat harvesting, processing, and transfer for optimal fat survival and natural-looking results. The procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia and requires specialized aftercare to protect the newly transferred fat.

Frequently Asked Questions

The amount of fat needed varies by patient and desired results, but typically 500-1000cc of purified fat is transferred to each buttock. This requires harvesting approximately 1000-2000cc of fat through liposuction. Patients must have adequate fat stores in donor areas like the abdomen, flanks, or thighs. During your consultation, our surgeon will assess if you have sufficient fat for the procedure.

Sitting directly on your buttocks after a BBL can compromise blood flow to the newly transferred fat cells, potentially reducing their survival rate. Pressure can cause fat cells to die before they establish a blood supply in their new location. To maximize fat retention and ensure optimal results, patients must avoid sitting directly on their buttocks for at least 2 weeks and use a special BBL pillow that redirects pressure to the thighs when sitting is necessary.

BBL results can be long-lasting once the transferred fat cells establish a blood supply in their new location. Typically, about 60-80% of transferred fat survives long-term. These surviving fat cells behave like fat cells elsewhere in your body—they can expand or shrink with weight fluctuations. To maintain optimal results, patients should maintain a stable weight through healthy diet and exercise. With proper care, BBL results can last many years or even decades.

BBL safety has improved significantly with modern techniques. At Neoderma Clinica, we follow strict safety protocols including injecting fat only into the subcutaneous space (never into or below the muscle), using specialized cannulas, and employing advanced imaging when necessary. Our surgeons are specifically trained in safe BBL techniques. While all surgeries carry risks, choosing a qualified, experienced plastic surgeon who prioritizes safety greatly reduces potential complications.
